The Rev. Scott Mithen
Scott grew up in Greenville, Alabama and graduated from Troy State University in 1977. While at Troy, he met the love of my life, Naomi Elizabeth Elliott. They were married and had two children, Ginny and Tommy. They now have 5 grandchildren, and spend as much time with them as they can. In 2015, Scott retired from the State of Georgia, Department of Family and Children Services with 30 years of service.
Scott was ordained to the Diaconate on October 21, 2009. He spent two years serving as deacon at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bainbridge and in September of 2012 Beth and Scott came to St. Thomas. For the last thirteen years, one of his diaconal ministries is as a volunteer visitor with Kindred Hospice in Bainbridge, Georgia. Scott also participates in feeding ministries in Thomasville and Bainbridge.
