About the Mission

The Oak Street Mission is a ministry of the three Episcopal churches in Thomasville: St. Thomas, All Saints, and Good Shepherd. A result of the Campaign from Congregational Development?s emphasis on creating Signature Ministries, the mission was founded as the Episcopal Development Agency of Thomasville (EDAT). The Oak Street Mission continues to foster the development of the Oak Street Community surrounding Good Shepherd Church.

Founded in 2013, Oak Street Episcopal Mission has received funding from the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia, the National Episcopal Church and local individuals and foundations. Oak Street Episcopal Mission’s efforts include rehabilitation of physical structures, health and wellness initiatives, education and employment. Already an active Board of Directors has encouraged volunteer efforts which have renovated the old vicarage as a community center and planted a community garden.
